Teddy Bears are the oldest toy in the world. These bears date back to 1894. Almost every single child in the world has had one teddy bear or another. They are soft and cuddly and each year they keep on getting stronger and more durable. Gone are the bears that are delicate and would just sit on a child’s bed. Today’s Teddy Bears have to be tough because today’s child carries the bear and drags that bear around everywhere they go.
The good old bear used to be brown all over and maybe have a shirt or outfit on and some of them were just plain brown bear. There is not a child in the world who has not had a teddy bear in one form or another. There have been some famous fictional teddy bears that everyone loves. Winnie the Pooh, Paddington Bear, Rupert the Bear from Family Guy, Pooky the teddy bear belonging to Garfield the Cat and many others.
Teddy bears are a big collectors item because there are so many in the world, you could never in your lifetime plan top have or even see every type of bear in the world. The collectors not only collect bears from their country but from all around the world. There are the standard bears and the fictional bears, the modern day bears as well as the antique bears. It is never too late to start a teddy bear collection.
